This statement covers the website gridritual.app and the Grid Ritual app. Onafgemaakte Zaken, Bassingracht 33, 1781 CG Den Helder, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce 42157347), is the controller for the processing described here.
Questions about privacy:
In short
Grid Ritual has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The app works offline and keeps your progress on your own device. We do not sell personal data.
The app
The app stores your progress, times, streak and settings (such as language, theme, zen mode and reminder time) on your device. This data never leaves your device and we cannot see it. It stays there until you clear the app data or remove the app.
If you turn on the daily reminder, the app asks for permission to show notifications. The reminder is scheduled on your device; no server is involved. When you share a result, your device’s own share menu sends only the text you choose to share.
Purchases
You buy premium through Google Play. Google handles payment and your Google account under its own privacy policy. We receive order details from Google, such as order number, date, product, price and country, but never your payment details. We keep order details for seven years because Dutch tax law requires this (legal obligation).
The website
This site is hosted by DreamHost in the United States. For each visit, DreamHost processes technical data on our behalf, such as your IP address, the requested page, the time and your browser type. This is needed to deliver and secure the site (legitimate interest). These server logs are not used to follow you and are deleted after seven days. The transfer to the United States is covered by the EU standard contractual clauses in our data processing agreement with DreamHost.
The site uses no cookies. When you choose a language or theme, your browser remembers it in localStorage under the keys grid-ritual-site-lang and grid-ritual-site-theme. This is strictly functional, so we do not ask for consent. You can remove it by clearing this website’s stored data in your browser.
Fonts, images and scripts are served by this website itself. We do not embed analytics, advertising, social media or other external content.
When you email us, we use your email address and message to answer you. Our email is also hosted by DreamHost, under the same agreement. We delete the message once your question has been handled, unless it concerns a purchase; then we keep it for the seven-year tax retention period.
Children
Grid Ritual collects no personal data through play, so children can play without sharing anything with us. Purchases run through the Google account and its family settings.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to receive it in a portable form. Email us and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the supervisory authority in your own EU country.
Changes
If the app or website starts processing data differently, we update this statement and the date at the top.
